In the practice of archetypal astrology, the slower-moving outer planet transits are a primary focus. Their major alignments coincide with salient chapters in world history.

Every once in a while, we'll get a rare and consequential alignment, like in 2020 with the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto triple conjunction, which coincided with the COVID pandemic and the totalitarian conditions in the zeitgeist.

This aspect pattern includes all five outer planets. The main spine is Jupiter opposing Pluto, producing the base tension and driving a synthesis into manifestation. Fortunately, the rest of the outer planets are in soft aspect with each other, providing support roles for resolution. Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all at 4° in their respective signs. Saturn is making a wide conjunction with Neptune at 14°. For the purposes of this analysis, I'm going to focus on the four planets at 4°.

I don't expect to necessarily see any particular acute event on the world stage, although I wouldn't be surprised, but I am mainly considering this as a deep fulcrum point in history. Where the tectonic shifts and archetypal alignments that are occuring now can be more readily perceived downstream somewhere in history.

Anywhere you look in the world, there are multiple existential-scale crises ongoing. It seems like almost every country around world is facing major problems. The American Empire along with NATO is prosecuting a proxy war with Russia via Ukraine, a culmination of decades of stategic advance following the collapse of the Soviet Union. The American Empire along with the Zionist regime in Israel is prosecuting a war of choice and ambition, to fulfill the Greater Israel project, resulting in the genocide of millions in the Middle East, so far.

Some military strategists and intelligence analysts have been raising the alarm that we are already in the early stages of World War III. That the international order that was formed after World War II, with its historical anomaly of relative peace, is no longer holding and has in fact already broken down. One of the symptoms of the fog of war from the current 5th generation style of warfare is that it is exceptionally hard to know what is true and make sense of things, with all the deception, propaganda, and distracting circus spectacle flooding the zone.

Nevertheless, we have a convulsing and belligerent American Empire problem. It's a problem at such a profound scale and scope that it apparently requires a cosmic congress of all the outer planets, and what looks like is going to require some massive terrestrial population-level organizing to get a handle on the megalomania.

Each of the outer planets have a specific trajectory or arc that can be seen unfolding through history. While the practice of archetypal astrology focuses on just the planets in aspect, I want to broaden the scope and include the outer planets' movements through the tropical zodiac signs and the synchronistic historical developments. So we can understand with clarity the many archetypal threads weaving through the past millennia and have some context for today.

Zodiacal-Historical Precedents

The beginning of 2026 saw all of the outer planets changing zodiacal signs simultaneously. Specifically related to Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, we just began a new chapter that will last well into the next decade. It's an important frame to understand we just entered into a new era, in terms of archetypal principles.

Principle: intellectual revolution, disruption of ideology and thought patterns, seditious ideation and insurrectionary behavior, rapid communication paradigm shifts.

  1. American Revolutionary War (1774–1782 cycle)
    Daring to declare independence from tyranny and imagine a new form of government with an unprecedented set of rights for the people and distributive checks and balances on goverment power.
  2. American Civil War (1858–1866 cycle)

Widespread social media adoption having fried people's attention spans and sensemaking abilities, short-circuited their dopamine reward systems leading to addictions, and hijacked and dysregulated their limbic and nervous systems. AI as a disruptive paradigm shift is going vertical in the exponential curve of impact.

Neptune in Aries

Principle: the spiritual quest, compassionate action, impulsiveness to act on a vision, the drive to manifest the invisible, archetype of the warrior-mystic, religious war, fragmenting of religious institutions and polities.

  1. The East-West Schism (1042-1057 cycle)
    The Christian church is split into Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy.
  2. The Albigensian Crusade (1206–1220 cycle)
    A Crusade by the Roman Catholic Church against the Cathars based on accusations of heresy. Whereas earlier Crusades targeted other neighboring religions, this Crusade persecutes inward toward Christians with slightly differing beliefs, resulting in genocide.

    The Magna Carta is signed, limiting royal authority by establishing the principle that the monarch is subject to the law, as well as protecting peasant rights and laying the foundation for broader individual rights to come.

  3. Hundred Years War (1370-1384 cycle)
    Struggles over succession in monarchies and papal lines. A precursor to Protestantism is seeded from advocating for translating the Bible into Middle English.
  4. Protestant Reformation (1533-1548 cycle)
    Martin Luther finishes his translation of the Bible. Countries form national churches and Europe fragments as Catholic and Protestant countries view each other as allies or enemies, with ongoing bloodshed from religious wars.
  5. Great Britain (1697–1712 cycle)
    Fighting over monarchic succession in the Spanish Empire. Restrictions placed on Roman Catholics inheriting the British throne. England and Scotland unify forming Great Britain. Kingdom of Prussia is founded.
  6. American Civil War (1861-1875 cycle)
    The American Civil War divides the nation into north and south, fighting over state powers and the abolition of slavery. Russia abolishes serfdom. The separation of church and state in the German Empire and its downstream alliances sets the conditions for World War I. Narcotics become commonly used in medications.
  7. Current Moment (2025–2039 cycle)
    Prelude: another brewing struggle over immigration policies, border enforcement, citizenship status, and cultural assimilation across Western nations. A war in the Middle East across religious fault lines involving Judeo-Christianity and Islam. Antisemitism in the Christian, Muslim, and secular Western world regarding Zionist control and war crimes.

Pluto in Aquarius

Principle: radical societal transformation, revolutionizing social structures and power dynamics, dismantling old structures of authority, decentralizing power, distributing knowledge, technological evolution and transformation of systems, fighting and using violence to enact ideals, political fanaticism, weapons inventions.

  1. Protestant Reformation (1533-1548 cycle)
    The democratization and distribution of access to the Bible upends the power hierarchies in Europe. Questions about the nature of the world by ordinary people are encouraged, overturning a dominating inertia of Church heresy claims. Copernicus introduces the heliocentric model, which triggers a revolution in understanding and lays the foundation for the Scientific Revolution.
  2. Revolutionary Wars (1777-1798 cycle)
    America fights the ensuing Revolutionary War after declaring independence from British rule. During the power struggle, the ideals of the Enlightenment reimagine society and its political systems.

    Civil unrest in France leads to the French Revolution, which ends the feudal system and lays the foundation for human rights, but also escalates into an endless violent bloodbath of increasingly radicalized positions.

  3. Current Moment (2023-2044 cycle)
    Prelude: the American Empire is wholly captured by corporate interests, transnational capital, and oligarchs. A security state within a state has formed among intelligence services, paramilitary mercenaries, international crime syndicates, drug and human trafficking networks, and illicit money laundering networks, that is compartmentalized beyond the reach and jurisdiction of the people. The legislative governing bureaucracy, judiciary, and executive administration are all functionally occupied and bought and paid for by a foreign nexus. The Treasury is being openly looted by government crony corruption and blatant fraud schemes, printing money and driving inflation of the money supply, while tanking the buying power of the currency and transferring wealth out of the populace. The People no longer have meaningful representation or recourse in their own self-government.

Conclusion

The historical trajectories are clear regarding the kind of extreme rebellion it takes to overthrow tyranny and re-establish a just society. The Founding Fathers even anticipated this eventuality and specifically wrote about the "Right and Duty of the People to abolish a destructive Government" in the Declaration of Independence:

"We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are … endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights…. That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men…. That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. … Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they are accustomed. It remains to be seen - in the beginning of this new era of outer planet zodiacal shifts - whether the American Empire will continue to impoverish and enslave its citizens and destroy the lives of people and cultures around the world. Or if there will be a bottom-up groundswell that forces accountability, and likely pays for it in violence and bloodshed. However, these are the contours of the archetypal drama that will play out for the rest of the decade and beyond.
